Clocktower Virtual Museum & Gallery

Please wait to gain entry to the Clock Tower, West Lancashire’s virtual Museum and Gallery

All the exhibitions are currently receiving submissions.

The Clock Tower is an important landmark in the centre of Ormskirk Town Centre, it was built in 1876 and replaced the market cross to become a well known landmark and meeting place.

It is for this reason that the name, “Clock Tower” has been chosen as the name for a virtual museum and gallery. This will not only form a unique online archive for Ormskirk, but will also offer you the chance to submit information to tell your own story or that of a relative.

The Clock Tower will have three distinct areas, dedicated to specific topics:

THE ATTIC – Ormskirk’s History from its founding by Orme to the present day

THE TOWER ROOM – West Lancashire’s journey through the pandemic. Told through the eyes of local residents who have experienced it first hand.

THE GRAND HALL – Ormskirk one hundred years from now, including contributions from school children and the general public.

As each archive is being built there will be a digital launch event. Dates for these events will be made available here as soon as they are confirmed.

More information on what to submit and how to submit it are available throughout this website and our team can always be contacted with any inquiries.
